The total time you spend training farming is tiny compared to other skills but waiting for things to grow takes a while! It plays a lot more like a daily/weekly than the other skills. Main thing to remember with farming is it's not really something you can just train constantly. Big dinos can give a lot of xp and profit from the materials they give. Still probably worth getting some frogs or something once you have the level for it! I'd say try and get the pens built when you can as they require a lot of anachronia materials which are time-gated. Ranch out of time is even more xp/week but it does mean more things to check each week and doesn't really give you much until you get to the large dinos imo. 25 gp per tends to be cheaper than alternatives. One big tip for food - for any animals that eat flowers you can buy as many woad leaves as you want from the gardener in falador park. Zygomites are really good xp if mushrooms aren't too expensive though!Ĭows in large pen are fine, but of course switch over to yaks and then dragons once you have the level for it. Zygomites got to a point where it was way too expensive to feed them when I was playing so you'd have to check prices yourself for that one - if mushrooms are too expensive then just go with spiders. Iirc you can get about 1m xp/week from 2 pens of chins if you're checking every day. ![]() Just use whatever you can get cheapest.Ĭhinchompas are really good once you get them. As you said - fruit is fruit, meat is meat. Only thing that can be annoying with this is baby animals don't start at 100% so there's a chance they get ill while growing up.įood within each category is meaningless. If your animals are at 100% they shouldn't get ill. Better compost = less dead cropsĪs long as animals are fed they will generally stay happy and healthy. The xp for herbs is never going to be great so up to you if the profit is worth the effort!Ĭrop death rate is just a % chance that is reduced depending on the tier of compost you use. If you have the level for bloodweed it's probably worth planting that in the wilderness herb patch (if you use that). Looking at the calculator:farming/herb profits wiki page - spirit weed is probably your best bet for money. You can read the full text of the rules here.Īnything price related you'd need to look into yourself as I haven't played in a while but will try to answer what I can from the perspective of somebody who got 120 farming.
